Absa Mauritius is expanding its Stories of Hope cancer awareness campaign to Rodrigues for the first time in 2026, in alignment with World Cancer Day on 4 February. The three-day activation, delivered in partnership with Link to Life and the Rodrigues Health Commission, will provide free breast and prostate cancer screenings across three community locations on the island. |
Rodrigues, home to approximately 43,000 residents, faces unique healthcare access challenges due to geographic isolation and limited availability of specialised screening services. This initiative aims to support early detection and improve access to preventive healthcare for underserved communities. Speaking on the initiative, Cedrine Chimon Rampal, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, said the Rodrigues activation reflects the bank’s commitment to inclusive growth and community wellbeing by ensuring essential health services reach all Mauritian and Rodriguan communities. Screenings will take place at the following locations from 09:00 to 14:00:
Stories of Hope was launched nationally in 2025 and has already reached more than 1,500 people through awareness and screening initiatives. |
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the free screening services available during the activation.
