Ebene, 21 September 2026: The Women in Tech Africa Summit and Awards 2026 will take place at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa on 24 September, bringing technology leaders, business executives, policymakers and industry experts from across Africa and beyond to Mauritius.
Supported by Absa, the summit will explore how technology and artificial intelligence are changing businesses, careers and leadership, as well as how Africa can play a stronger role in shaping the global digital agenda.
For Mauritius, the event provides an opportunity for local business, technology and policy stakeholders to engage directly with regional perspectives on digital transformation. It will also bring discussions on future skills, responsible artificial intelligence and workforce readiness into a market where organisations are considering how to use new technology while preparing people for changing roles.
The summit forms part of a wider relationship between Absa and Women in Tech that began in 2023. The collaboration was established to support greater participation in technology through education, skills, mentorship, digital inclusion and recognition of people making an impact in the sector.
Since then, the relationship has grown beyond events to include practical skills and development initiatives. These have included cloud certification, community technology workshops and artificial intelligence training aimed at improving digital confidence, employability and economic participation.
The Mauritius summit creates a local platform for this wider African agenda. It will allow stakeholders to exchange perspectives on how digital transformation can respond to practical business and customer needs, while ensuring that trust, security, inclusion and human judgement remain part of the conversation.
Absa Bank Mauritius and Absa Group will contribute to the programme through sessions focused on technology leadership and the future of work. The discussions will consider how leaders are using technology to address African challenges and how organisations can prepare employees for the opportunities and changes created by artificial intelligence.
The programme will also examine Africa’s role in shaping artificial intelligence, the importance of perspectives from the Global South and the contribution of younger technology professionals to the continent’s future.
