Our ongoing partnership with Bocuse d’Or Mauritius is growing stronger. Since the start of our collaboration in 2024, we have proudly supported Emmanuel and Aninia Fortuno in the previous edition of the prestigious culinary competition Bocuse d’Or. We are now thrilled to continue this journey by standing alongside the second cohort of chefs, made up of three teams, as they prepare for the national competition on 9 September 2025.
This important step will determine who will represent Mauritius at the African finals in 2026, a key opportunity to showcase the richness of our island’s culinary excellence, with the hope of earning a place at the prestigious World Finale in Lyon, France.

Meet the three teams competing:

Team N’Joy
Candidate: Jean Matthieu
Commis: Eliany Legrand
Coach: Harrish Mungur

Team O&O St. Geran
Candidate: Nitilesh Beharee
Commis: Parakishit Seegolam

Team Heritage Telfair

Commis: Muhammad Muzzamil Ibn Abdool Eillias Ozeer

Beyond the excitement of the kitchen, the competition brings with it a broader impact across the island. As Emmanuelle Coquet, Director of Promotion at Bocuse d’Or, puts it: “Like many countries within the wider Bocuse d’Or family, Mauritius sees this competition as a powerful platform to showcase its talent, way of life, and rich culinary heritage. It is a major asset in terms of image, training, and innovation, and it strengthens the island’s overall appeal as a destination.”

This aligns perfectly with Absa Mauritius' vision. As a committed partner in this journey, we believe in empowering local talent and supporting their growth on the international stage. As Jennifer Johnson, Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations at Absa Mauritius, explains: “It is with great pride that we support this new generation of Bocuse d’Or chefs, who are preparing to take part in the national selections. After having had the honour of supporting Emmanuel and Aninia Fortuno during the previous edition, our commitment to uncovering and showcasing the potential of Mauritian talent remains stronger than ever, perfectly aligned with our purpose: Empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together… one story at a time. These chefs embody the values of courage and ingenuity that we hold dear at Absa, and we are delighted to accompany them on their journey to shine a light on the richness of Mauritian gastronomy, both locally and internationally.”

We are proud to stand behind these chefs as they carry the spirit of Mauritian excellence to new heights.
