Meet our friendly Abby kiosk powered by artificial intelligence designed to assist you with your banking transactions and queries at an Absa branch near you*.
Abby enables you to self-service your banking services 24/7. It works on both voice commands and keyboard inputs. It uses advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) capabilities to understand your intent and respond accordingly. After registration, it recognizes you through Face Recognition and allows you to place transactions with secure PIN set during the registration process. What’s more, the humanoid has autonomous navigation capabilities and can physically accompany you to the concerned branch staff.

Abby Kiosk can assist you with banking transaction and information at select Absa branches in Mauritius. Abby kiosk enables authenticated users to self-service themselves for banking services including

For banking services that require intervention of branch staff, the Abby Kiosk will provide you with an electronic ticket for the branch counter.
How do I get started?
Getting started is super simple. To register for the Abby Kiosk, enter the following
- NIC OR Passport
- Date of Birth
- Last 4 Digits of Account Number OR Absa Credit Card
On successful authentication, an OTP is sent to your registered mobile number. Confirm OTP and get started by registering your Face ID and selecting a 5-digit passcode of your choice. On subsequent login, Abby Kiosk will identify you automatically and for processing any transaction, you will need to input your 5-digit passcode for authentication.
What is a Humanoid Abby Kiosk?
Abby Kiosk would be available in two variants i.e. in a humanoid form and with a tablet display stand. The humanoid version has advanced capabilities like proximity sensors and it detects the presence of a person approaching it. It can also walk and talk just as we humans do. Abby is new, is still learning and improving with every interaction to create new capabilities, and features to enhance your experience with Absa.
In order to seek account information or transact on the Abby Kiosk, you need to go through a registration process wherein you need to input your NIC / Passport, Date of Birth and last 4 digits of Account or Credit card number.
Once the details are validated, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Once successful authentication of OTP, you will need to register your face ID and set a 5-digit passcode.
Non-account related information is available without any registration process and for banking related services that require intervention of branch staff, the Abby Kiosk will provide you with an electronic ticket for the branch counter.
Face ID is secure as it is encrypted and stored within our secure Data Centres. While it is not mandatory to register for Face ID, we recommend Face ID registration as it significantly eases the login process and enhances the account security.
Should you choose to skip this, on every subsequent login, you would need to enter your NIC / passport number, Abby Passcode and OTP.
Face ID not recognised:
If Face ID not detected by the Kiosk due to reasons such as sunglasses or cap or low lighting conditions etc., you can still do the login using NIC OR Passport, Abby Passcode and OTP.
- Scenario 1: You are Registered with the Face ID
You can generate a new passcode by clicking forgot passcode link. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and on successful confirmation of the OTP, you will be asked to reset the passcode and confirm new passcode. After this, you will be able to login.
- Scenario 2: You are not registered with Face ID or Face ID failed
You can generate a new passcode by clicking forgot passcode link. You will be asked to enter the NIC or Passport an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and on successful confirmation of the OTP, you will be asked to reset the passcode and confirm new passcode. After this you will be able to login.
- Scenario 1: You are Registered with the Face ID
Yes, you can do a live chat or a video chat to our customer service representative (subject to availability) that can assist you on your queries.
For the first time to update your mobile number, you would need visit our Branch staff. Once your mobile number is updated in our records, you can register on the Abby Kiosk and change your mobile number.
Yes, you will be able to perform all types of Fund Transfer (domestic and international), make bill payments, place a standing instruction, enrol for direct debit, order a chequebook, change mobile no or email id and more.
Yes, we use state-of-the-art technologies to ensure your data is safe and communications are encrypted.
After completion of every transaction, Abby Kiosk will prompt you to Continue or Logout. In case you forget to Logout, in 30 seconds your session will be automatically invalidated.
Further, if someone continues your session within 30 secs, before processing any transaction, the Kiosk will prompt for your 5 digit Abby Passcode thereby making the process secure.
