How can I check if the account number I have belongs to the correct person or business?

Click or tap the ‘Verify account’ link when you’re paying someone new or viewing a saved beneficiary’s details. Please note:

  • Each verification request has a cost (see ‘Charges’).
  • If you’re verifying a person’s account, you need to have their ID number, initials and surname.
  • If you’re verifying a business account, you need to have the company name and registration number.

Account verification is currently only available for these banks:

  • Absa
  • African Bank
  • Capitec
  • First National Bank (FNB)
  • Nedbank
  • Standard Bank
